27 November, 2008. We would like to draw your attention that on Thursday, 27 November, 2008, Tourism project selection committee sitting in Ministry of Economy has recommended to grant 86,2 mln. Lt of 2007-2013 EU structural assistance to implementation of 20 projects. EU structural funds are financial instruments of European Union's regional policy which help to reduce disparities between different Member States across the EU. It is a well known fact that European Union comprises Member States very different in their level of economic development, quality of life, traditions, culture, etc. EU regional policy is designed to minimize these differences across Europe keeping in mind the need to ensure solidarity of Europeans.
