Calls for proposals have been announced on 31 January, 2004 by Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania, Central Project Management Agency and Lithuanian Business Support Agency under four grant schemes of project "Support to Business Development" under Phare 2002 Economic & Social Cohesion in Lithuania programme:

  1. Business support services (documents in english; documents in lithuanian)
  2. Direct support to companies (documents in english; documents in lithuanian)
  3. Public tourism infrastructure (documents in english; documents in lithuanian)
  4. Direct support to private entities developing tourism services and activities (documents in english; documents in lithuanian)

On 2 April, 2004, call for proposals under PHARE 2002 Economic & Social Cohesion in Lithuania programme project "Support to Business Development" was closed. From 31 January, 2004 till 2 April, 2004, 352 proposals have been received and registered byLithuanian Business Support Agency.

Total available amount of grants under PHARE 2002 Economic & Social Cohesion in Lithuania programme project "Support to Business Development" was 8 mill. euros, 2 mill. euros for each of four grant schemes. There were subsidies granted under this project, minimum grant amount - 50 000 euros (20 000 euros under grant scheme 4), while maximum amount - 100 000 euros. Project "Support to Business Development" was financed from PHARE 2002 Economic & Social Cohesion in Lithuania programme and national funds. Project was administered by Lithuanian Business Support Agency with active participation of Structural funds management division of Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Lithuania.
