  • Lithuanian Innovation Strategy for the year 2010 – 2020
    The Lithuanian Innovation Strategy for the Year 2010–2020 is a long-term strategic planning document which sets vision, objectives, goals and results to be achieved in the field of Lithuanian Innovation up to 2020. It is the first horizontal Lithuanian Innovation Strategy, which integrates initiatives across all innovation-related areas – business, public sector and society. Most emphasis in the Lithuanian Innovation Strategy is placed on the solution of issues of direct impact on the innovation of Lithuania, such as the quality of human resources and material facilities, creativity and entrepreneurship in private and public sectors, systematic approach to innovation, the culture of inter-institutional cooperation and cooperation between business and science.
       
  • High technology development programme for 2011-2013
    The aim of the programme is to help develop worldwide perspective hi-tech trends with scientific potential which makes it possible to create new products competitive in a global market. Hi-tech trends: Biotechnology, Mechatronics, Laser technology, Information technology, Nanotechnology and Electronics. The objectives of the programme are to develop five technology trends research and development works. This programme is important for Lithuania, because in the future economic growth could be ensured only increase of hi-tech production. The programme will promote investments to high technologies, make a possibility to create new work places, promote science and business cooperation.
        
     
  • Industrial biotechnology development programme for Lithuania for 2011-2013
    The aim of the programme is to accelerate biotechnology industry development in Lithuania. The objectives of the programme: Create materials and products from renewable raw materials using biotechnological methods; Create bio-plastics and materials to produce it from renewable raw materials using biotechnological methods; Create new biocatalysts and develop its Application technologies; Create pharmaceutical and veterinary products and veterinary products.
    Industrial biotechnology development is relevant for Lithuania, because industrial biotechnology is new and quickly growing field of production. There are good conditions to develop industrial biotechnology in Lithuania: High potential for renewable raw materials; Several industrial biotechnology and bio-pharmacy companies are operating in Lithuania; Research in biotechnology is carried out; There is good social climate in Lithuania.
        
     
  • National programme on development of research, technologies and innovations in the space sector for 2010-2015
    Lithuania, as the Member of the EU, is engaged in the process of shaping and implementing the EU space policy and, by paying the EU membership fee, contributes to funding of the EU space programmes. The National Programme on Development of Research, Technologies and Innovation in the Space Sector for 2010-2015 is aimed to determine the most significant development provisions of the Lithuanian business and science acting in space-related research and technological development and innovation: 1) to create and develop competitive business and science sector of Lithuania acting in the field of space (hereinafter referred to as the space sector); 2) to pursue membership in the European Space Agency (ESA) and fully pledged participation of the Lithuanian space sector in the Europe’s Space Programme.
